Meals on Wheels of Kingsport is powered by volunteers who show up with more than a meal—they bring a friendly face and the reassurance that someone cares. Each weekday, we prepare and deliver 200+ fresh, nutritious meals to older adults and adults with disabilities across the greater Kingsport area, helping neighbors stay nourished, safe, and independent in their own homes.
- Meals are prepared and delivered by teams of volunteer cooks and drivers. Weekly, a minimum of 70 drivers, 35 cooks, and 10 coordinators are required to prepare and deliver meals.
- Meals are provided Monday through Friday. We deliver on all holidays except Christmas and sometimes the 4th of July.
- Thanks to the generosity of First Presbyterian Church and Waverly Road Presbyterian Church, we have kitchen space that helps make meal preparation possible each day.
- With support from St. Paul’s Episcopal Church, some of our recipients also receive Sunday meals—helping ensure they’re cared for beyond the weekday deliveries.
- We’re funded through United Way of Greater Kingsport, grants, individual donations, support from community organizations and churches, and our annual Cruise-In (held the second Saturday in August).
